Margalida Vinyes (Palma, 1970)
Illustrator and graphic designer.
Margalida Vinyes creates illustrations for books, advertising, institutional campaigns, artistic murals and comics. She not only has illustrated for publishers in Catalonia, Madrid, Valencia and the Balearic Islands, but has also been communications technician at the “Institute of Innovation of the Government of the Balearic Islands”.
Her work has been recognized in the catalogue Dones dissenyadores de Catalunya i Balears. Margalida has been awarded for creating the posters “Sant Sebastià Festival” (Palma) “International Women’s Day”, and also won the best illustration award at the exhibition “Behance Mallorca 2013”. In 2015 she debuted as a comic author with the graphic novel Catalina, la cuinera de l’Òpera.
In 2016 she participated in the “Women’s International Comic Art Festival” in Brussels. On March 8, 2018, her illustration “Dona-li la volta” went viral internationally. In 2017 she collaborated on the Mallorca stand at FITUR. In 2019 she exhibited work at the book fair Ilustrísima in the “Salón del dibujo y la ilustración” at at the ABC Museum in Madrid. She was also invited to the “Stockholm international Comics Festival”. In 2020 she won the “Literary Creation Grant” from the Balearic Government, for her book La Veritable Història de la Lletera. which was then published by “Disset Edició” .
